Water Resources Engineer - At Large

 

House Moran Consulting, Inc. is looking to add a highly motivated Water Resources Engineer to our growing surface water practice. House Moran is a specialty water resources and environmental engineering consulting firm serving private and municipal clients nationwide.

This position will work with an exciting team of professionals in a quickly growing consulting firm that is dedicated to exceeding our client’s expectations. The successful candidate should work well in both team and individual settings and have a strong desire for continued development of technical and project management skills.

Services provided by this position include:

  • FEMA floodplain revisions/amendments

  • H&H watershed modeling and planning

  • Stormwater master planning and design

  • River mechanics and natural resources engineering

  • Water quality modeling

  • Sediment transport modeling

  • 404/401 permitting

Qualified candidates will possess the preferred position requirements below:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET accredited university in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field

  • Strong technical understanding of open channel hydraulics, river mechanics, hydrologic processes, floodplain management, and stormwater management

  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS and AutoCAD

  • Working knowledge of common hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, such as SWMM, HEC-RAS (steady, unsteady, 2D), HEC-HMS, FLO-2D, etc.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience

  • PE license or EIT certification

Additional requirements preferred but not required:

  • Programming experience, python preferred

  • Previous consulting experience

  • Prior land development experience including site grading, storm drainage design, water supply design, sanitary sewer, and pump station design
